Media Control admitted by Anita Dunn

President Obama’s presidential campaign focused on “making” the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was “controlled,” White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference.

Anita Dunn 279x300 Obama administrations admits to controlling the media

Anita Dunn is the interim White House Communications Director. Previously, she was a Democratic political consultant with a Washington-based consulting firm, Squier Knapp Dunn Communications, and was a top adviser to Barack Obama's presidential campaign

“Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn’t absolutely control,” said Dunn.

”One of the reasons we did so many of the David Plouffe videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters,” said Dunn, referring to Plouffe, who was Obama’s chief campaign manager.

“We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it,” Dunn said.

Continued Dunn: “Whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech, a huge part of our press strategy was focused on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to why the campaign was saying it, what the tactic was. … Making the press cover what we were saying.”

Of course they have tried to control the media by feeding what they wanted them to know.  But I blame the media for being such “lap dogs” and not doing discovery.  And now you know why the Obama administration is so mad at Fox.  They are the only network that won’t play ball.

Obama makes a campaign stop in New Orleans

Friday, October 16th, 2009

NEW ORLEANS – Insisting he’s “just getting started,” President Barack Obama defended his administration Thursday against complaints from some residents of the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast that federal help in recovering from the 2005 disasters hasn’t improved much since he took office.

“We’ve got a long way to go but we’ve made progress,” Obama told a town hall at the University of New Orleans. “We’re working as hard as we can and as quickly as we can.”

As a candidate, Obama criticized former President George W. Bush’s response to Katrina, when the government showed up late and unprepared and the Federal Emergency Management Agency became the object of widespread scorn.

The storm killed some 1,600 people in Louisiana and Mississippi — and damage has been estimated at roughly $40 billion. The damage is still starkly visible in New Orleans — in blighted neighborhoods of creaky houses, boarded-up businesses, structure after structure awaiting demolition and critical recovery work not yet started.

Obama wanted to use his first visit as president to the Gulf Coast to listen to residents’ concerns about the recovery effort. And although most questions were on unrelated subjects, one man gave him an earful.

“I expected as much from the Bush administration, but why are we still being nickeled and dimed in our recovery?” asked Gabriel Bordenave, 29, of New Orleans.

“I wish I could write a blank check,” Obama replied, promoting Bordenave to shout back, “Why not?”

Obama claimed progress since he entered the White House in January. He cited reconstruction projects that have moved forward after having been stalled by disagreements over whether the state or federal government would foot the bill. FEMA is working “around the clock to clear up red tape and to eliminate bureaucracy on backlogs that go back years,” he said.

According to FEMA, 76 of the 120 Louisiana reconstruction projects that were stuck at the beginning of his presidency have been resolved, sending more than $1.4 billion in additional federal aid to Louisiana.

“I know since a lot of these problems have been going on since Katrina, people understandably feel impatient,” Obama told the crowd of several hundred who won tickets in an Internet lottery to attend. “On the other hand, a lot of these things are not going to be fixed tomorrow.”

Obama said officials from his administration have made 35 trips to the Gulf Coast since March — and “not just to make appearances, but to listen and to learn and help you move forward.”

The man has more excuses than anyone could have ever believed. I love the fact that AP (another government news agency) got in at least one quote to admonish the Bush administration for his lack of caring for the people of New Orleans. But I forgot, Bush destroyed the levees to get rid of all the black people….at least thats what Spike Jonez said.

hating on Obama 204x300 Obama makes a campaign stop in New Orleans

"Why do people hate you, Mr. Obama".......Don't get me started

I happen to live on the Gulf coast. While my house and belongings were not damaged by Katrina, I received damage from Rita and Ike. If I had waited for the government to come in and fix my property, my family and I would have still been waiting, sitting in a damaged house. The point being. Obama, loves these kinds of situations. These helpless needy people, whose very existence depends on a government hand out, are his voting constituency.

Now, I am not saying that everyone in New Orleans or the rest of the Gulf coast that suffered damages and needed help, are government welfare cases. No, not at all. I am saying that the people who are looking to Obama or any government or government agency to fix all of their problems is a perfect Obama voter.

These are the people that have forgotten how to work, how to exist without a hand out. My heart goes out to them and their children. For generations they have lived on that monthly “government check”. What will happen to them when the government can’t provide that check? How will their children learn to be independent and learn to earn their own way? If Obama truly cared about these people, he would be in the

process of ending government programs, which would force people to learn how to live normally again. Of course if people are independent thinkers and begin earning the things they own…..well let’s just say, they wouldn’t be Obama voters much longer.

And finally, to the little boy that asked Obama that set up question, “Why do people hate you?”…… I wish that boy had asked me or any of the other Tax Payers that see their futures being stolen.  I bet we would have had a better answer than he got from Obama.  All Obama did was take time to remind everyone that he won the election.

The Rush Limbaugh media lynch mob

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Which public figure can be quoted as having said something bigoted and disgusting and it doesn’t matter whether he did or not because he might have? Who can Big Media brand a racist without checking the facts? Who has to prove he did not say something racist, rather than the accuser proving he did? A pat on the back for anyone who guessed the answer: Rush Limbaugh (OK, the blog headline was a clue). From CNN  to MSNBC to ABC, it’s been put about that Limbaugh said this:

rush 300x225 The Rush Limbaugh media lynch mobI mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

It’s also been spread around that he said this, about the death of the man who assassinated Martin Luther King:

You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honour? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

Trouble is, he didn’t say either of these outrageous things. And it wasn’t difficult to check, as protein wisdom shows here. They originated from, er, Wikipedia and Wikiquotes. Both quotes ended up in this book – a hit job that doesn’t cite any sources. They’re also included in this internet list posted a year ago and endlessly ripped off ever since. The irony is, of course, that the people reporting this as fact are the same types who are always denouncing bloggers and the internet as forces of evil intent on destroying proper journalism – proper journalism being the kind that involves checking facts. In the case of Rush Limbaugh, however, it seems to be enough that the intention (i.e. to show the talk radio host is a racist) is considered pure.

Even those who have been primary movers in spreading these malicious falsehoods – which would lead to payouts of hundreds of thousands in British libel courts if lawsuits were ever filed there – are brazenly unapologetic.

Thus, St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell pens this column containing the slavery quote and then follows up with another column with a kind-of-sort-of-well-not-really-at-all mea culpa in which he states that the quote seemed “so in character with the many things that Limbaugh has said before that we didn’t verify it beyond the book”.

OK, so it sounded right and it was on the internet or in a book or something so it was fine to just go ahead and print it as stone-cold fact without any attribution? I wonder which journalism school teaches that?

And Burwell caps it off by implying – nudge, nudge, wink, wink – that Limbaugh’s really lying: “Fine, let’s play along for the time being and take him at his word that he was inaccurately quoted in the Huberman book.” I’m no fan of British libel laws but, again, if that had been printed in the UK it would have led to a hefty payout for aggravated damages.

Limbaugh is, understandably, on the war path because the smear of racism is one is very, very difficult to wipe clean:

When race is brought into it, that you can’t let stand. I mean, if you, if people are trying to destroy your reputation and your credibility, your life, and your career by attacking you as a racist, then you have to stand up and, like that.

Now we are in the process behind the scenes working to get apologies and retractions, with the force of legal action, against every journalist who has published these entirely fabricated quotes about me, slavery, and James Earl Ray.

I never said them. We have tracked them. We know where they came from. We don’t know the identity, but we know where they came from – a single blogger who posted the stuff on my Wikipedia page and Wikiquotes, unsourced.

Wikipedia says, ‘Well, this is in dispute.’ It’s not in dispute. They were never uttered. I never said them. And I’ve even told reporters I never said them.

As Mark Steyn points out, in this instance it’s for Limbaugh to prove the negative – an impossible task. And Dan Calebrese asks why if Limbaugh really is a racist then it takes bogus quotes to “prove” that he is?

What’s the term for those who are setting about “racist” Rush Limbaugh right now? Ironically, it seems to be “lynch mob”. And they’ve succeeded – word is that Limbaugh’s been dropped from the consortium seeking to buy the St Louis Rams.

Obama says he is in favor of having ACORN investigated….or does he?

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

The original title from the AP was this:

Obama favors investigation into ACORN’s activities, that is so misleading and untrue.  Below is the story.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says there should be an investigation into the hidden-camera video involving employees at the activist group ACORN and a couple posing as a prostitute and her pimp.

The two ACORN workers are seen apparently advising the couple to lie about her profession and launder her earnings to get housing aid.

The video is only the latest problem for the group, which had nearly $1 million embezzled by its founder’s brother and has been accused of voter registration fraud. The House and Senate voted last week to denyacorn nuts 197x300 Obama says he is in favor of having ACORN investigated....or does he? federal funds to ACORN.

Obama told ABC’s “This Week” in an interview broadcast Sunday that what he saw on the video “was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.” But the president did not say who should investigate. And he said it is not a major national issue he pays much attention to.

“Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely,” Obama said. “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.”

Give me a break, no where does he say that they are “going to be investigated”. He only says that the video incident should be investigated. Then his next statement blows me away, “Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely,” Obama said. “I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money. What a liar, he used to work for one of their organization. If you didn’t already, you now

know for sure, ABC, is a government propaganda machine. Mickey Mouse has become a communist. (Disney owns ABC)

As a politician, (and a dirty one) Obama is going to protect the people that helped him get elected, ACORN. So, he will say and do way he thinks you, the American Public, want to hear and then, he will do nothing. It is just like his views on health care for Illegal aliens. He says he does not support it. Well, if he makes them all citizens, problem solved and the American Tax Payer, (YOU) gets whacked again.

I am not just against Obama, ACORN and the socialist left leaning Democratic leadership. I am against anyone or any organization that tries to move us away from a constitutional government and circumvent our laws. Our freedom is under attack and ACORN is the lead pipe Obama, Democrats and the liberal left have been beating us with.ENOUGH 300x84 Obama says he is in favor of having ACORN investigated....or does he?
