Hundreds of al-Qaeda militants are planning terror attacks from Yemen, the country’s Foreign Minister said today.

Abu Bakr al-Qirbi appealed for more help from the international community to help to train and equip counter-terrorist forces.  His plea came after an al-Qaeda group based in Yemen claimed responsibility for the failed Christmas Day airliner bomb plot.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, alleged to be behind the attempt to blow up an American-bound aircraft, spent time in Yemen with al-Qaeda and was in the country only days before the failed attack.

“They may actually plan attacks like the one we have just had in Detroit. There are maybe hundreds of them — 200, 300.”

Dr al-Qirbi said it was the “responsibility” of countries with strong intelligence capabilities to warn states such as Yemen about the movements of terror suspects.  The United States, Britain and the European Union could do a lot to improve Yemen’s response to militants on its own soil, he added.

“We have to work in a very joint fashion in partnership to combat terrorism,” he said. “If we do, the problem will be brought under control.

“There is support, but I must say it is inadequate. We need more training, we have to expand our counter-terrorism units and provide them with equipment and transportation like helicopters.”

Mr Abdulmutallab is said to have told US agents that there were more people “just like him” ready to carry out attacks.

The theory behind being politically correct, is to reduce the hate that exist in the world.  By reducing hate words, it is hoped that tension would be reduced and there would be less violence on the planet.  The problem with the theory is that the person speaking the words and the person listening to the words really want to eliminate the hate.  So far, the Islamic terrorist do not appear to want to stop hating.  After all, they have had more than 1000 years of practice. So, while Americans are punished by the thought police for speaking the truth, our sworn enemies are plotting new ways to kill us and take down every western nation.  Or should I say, every Christian Nation….of course not that would be politically incorrect.

If Yemen really wants to rid themselves of terrorist, then they should declare war on them and make their actions illegal.  Again, it takes both parties to really want to make a change and stop the hate.  In Yemen’s case neither party really wants to change.  This is just an attempt to extort money from our treasury.

I have no hope that our bowing, Muslim educated, apologizing, Nobel Peace Prize wining president will ever actually do anything about the Nation of Islam.  For whatever reason, he along with most of Congress refuse to speak the truth and ignore the obvious.  Until our enemies and their hate filled mosques are destroyed, the American Public will never be safe. 

We the people need to make a decision; we either withdraw our troops from all foreign soil, drop our support of Israel, and be held hostage by Islam or we need to speak the truth and fight the until we are free from this threat.

I for one vote for fighting for my freedom.  My first strike in the war will be to work to  remove every liberty hating liberal from office and restore our constitution.

Speaking from Kaneohe, Hawaii where he is vacationing with his family, Obama assures America that catching the group behind the attempted in-flight bomb detonation on Northwest Airlines flight 253 is his first priority.

“A full investigation has been launched into this attempted act of terrorism and we will not rest until we find all who were involved and hold them accountable,”

“This was a serious reminder of the dangers that we face and the nature of those who threaten our homeland,” he said.

Still not acknowledging that the terrorist are driven by a religious ideology, Obama chooses to address it geographically.

“We will continue to use every element of our national power to disrupt, to dismantle and defeat the violent extremists who threaten us — whether they are from Afghanistan or Pakistan, Yemen or Somalia or anywhere where they are plotting attacks against the US homeland.”

Unfortunately Mr. Obama, this terrorist was from none of those places.  Again, Obama  fails to link the terrorist with the true source of Terrorism, Islam.  Love or hate George Bush, at least he understood who the enemies of the American public were.

CAIRO  —  Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has claimed responsibility for the attempted attack on a U.S. airliner on Christmas day, saying it was retaliation for a U.S. operation against the group in Yemen.

In a statement posted on the Internet, the group said 23-year-old Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab coordinated with members of the group.

Yemeni forces, helped by U.S. intelligence, carried out two airstrikes against Al Qaeda operatives in the country this month. The second one was a day before the attempted bombing of the plane.

The group said the would-be bomber used explosives manufactured by Al Qaeda members.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is an alliance of militants based in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Investigators believe the suspect was radicalized before he went to Yemen, sources told Fox News. According to one source, Abdulmutallab traveled to Yemen sometime near the end of last year or early this year. He was there for several weeks or months, and investigators believe Abdulmutallab was “vetted for the mission” while in Yemen.

Investigators are still working to confirm whether the suspect was trained in Yemen and received explosive material there.

The suspect also traveled within the last year to England, the Netherlands, and one other unnamed European country, Fox News has learned. Plus he was in Nigeria and Togo. One source said he “bounced around a bit.”

Evidence collected shows that Abdulmutallab also was a “big fan” of radical imam Anwar Al-Awlaki, as Web traffic shows Abdulmutallab was a follower of Awlaki’s blog and Web site

So far no evidence has been revealed that the two exchanged e-mails or talked one-on-one. Awlaki is an American born in New Mexico, now living in Yemen, and is the same imam from whom alleged Fort Hood shooter Malik Nidal Hasan sought spiritual advice.

Awlaki was reported to have been killed in an air strike by Yemeni forces last week, but it is now unconfirmed whether he is one of the 30 extremists killed.

Just as the Copenhagen climate summit appeared to be on the verge of unraveling, the United States Thursday announced its support of an annual $100 billion climate protection fund, the Associated Press reports.

“The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.

Included in the conditions for the US’ contribution, Clinton demanded that China’s emissions reductions be scrutinized independently and that 193 countries sign a climate deal tomorrow. This would keep the US and other rich nations on top of developing countries who want them to increase emission cuts, the AP reports.

Clinton revealed that the U.S. would not be decreasing emissions by 2020 beyond the 4 percent it committed to in 1990.

While she would not disclose how much the U.S. would be contribution to the climate fund, Clinton said there would be a fair amount contributed to the pot that would be made available in 2020. The finances will reportedly be raised partially by taxing aviation and shipping, as proposed by the European Union.
